In spite of this, these facilities have been slow to equip employees with the personal protective equipment they need to work safely. And these companies have often refused to slow production lines to allow proper social distancing in the workplace.

As a result, the pandemic is spiraling out of control in many facilities, sickening hundreds at a time. The government is listening carefully to the needs of agricultural producers and food processors but ignoring workers and their representatives.
